A Place I Call Home
One of the things that I look forward to every year is summertime. Not just because the weather is warmer, but because that means that is time for my family to go to the one place I can always call home, the beach. And not just any beach...Sullivan's Island, S.C.
It is one of the few beaches in the Carolina's that you can see forever, and there are no hotels. Just residential homes. You can walk out on the beach and it isn't jammed with people. You have an area at least a football field wide for your family. You can let your kids go and not have to worry. This particular area has a huge lagoon area that the children can play in and you don't have to worry about the current taking them down the beach or the waves knocking them down. Pets are welcome there as well. It's the one place that I can just kick back and really relax. Take it all in.
Of all the beaches around, this is truly the one place I can see myself in 40 years. Every time I set my feet in that sand, I can finally feel at peace with myself. I can't pinpoint one exact reason, but I guess it is the combination of the childhood memories and the sense of relaxation I get just from the sight of it. It's the place I call home...
